All standard daters come with abbreviated month bands Jan-Dec, two number bands 0-9 for days, and a year band. Year bands run for 6 consecutive years. Many customized combinations (including letter or number bands) are available.

By customizing the machine with any combination of letter (A-M or N-Z) or number (0-9) band you can mark part numbers, serial numbers, date codes, and other information that changes regularly.
